it's a celebration!

Happy, happy 3 month birthday to little Gray Joseph!  

Gray's grand adventures ( thus far) :
- road trip to Austin where he decided not to sleep the entire two days= very tired Jake and Summer
- his first round of immunizations.  not fun
- disturbing the peace at the eye doctor
- survived a record breaking HOT August
- making an appearance at Jake's office - he was very well behaved!
- going out to various restaurants, shopping trips, and one happy hour (you have a baby...in a bar?)
- welcoming TWO new cousins in August - baby Given Michael Zennadi was born last week in San Francisco!  
Next up- 6.5 hour road trip to San Angelo and his baptism in October!


Now let's celebrate your 3 month birthday by sleeping through the night, okay??!!

oh happy day!

1.  it's Friday- whoop!
2.  we survived Gray's first round of shots (he was not a very happy baby yesterday afternoon and evening) 
3.  just watched Gnomeo & Juliet with my nephews & it was kinda funny!
4.  another 100+ degree day- wait, why are we happy about that?

My poor baby is off to the pediatrician today to get his first round of immunizations.  He recently has discovered his vocal range and I'm a little nervous he's gonna let us hear it at the doctors office.  Keep your fingers crossed we make it through today!
Here is Mr. Gray on a happier day.  Yes, I know he looks super chubby.  What can I say? Obviously the camera adds 10 pounds.

I love when Target collaborates with a fashion designer for a line.  Next up?  Missoni will be releasing their collection September 13- October 22.  Here's some pics of whats coming up:

I think Gray and I will be hitting up Target the day this comes out.  Then we'll ride the bike home together.  Oliver can fit in the basket, too.

lesson learned

Baby G pulled a fast one on me this morning.  I had an eye appointment strategically scheduled during his nap time. I knew he would fall asleep in the car on the way there and hopefully sleep through the whole thing.  
Now at this point in the story all you more experienced mothers are laughing at me.  And you should.  Silly, silly Summer.
Gray woke up and screamed the entire time.  I was holding him while he kicked, screamed, arched his back, and got red in the face- all the while I was trying to read the smallest line of letters and deciding if it's better at "1 or 2?  2 or 3? 1 or 3?".  I'm pretty sure my prescription is all wrong since I was answering 1 for all of them in hopes to get out soon.  
Luckily I have the nicest eye doctor in the world and he didn't seem too bothered by it.  He even carried the car seat to the car for me! But now that I think about it, he was probably trying to get us out of his office as quickly as possible...
Lesson of the day: babies will not sleep when you want them to
Lesson 2 of the day:  get a babysitter next time
ps: did I mention he fell asleep as soon as we got in the car? perfect timing Gray...

Gray might be mad at me for posting an unflattering picture of him, but since he's only 10 weeks old he doesn't get a say yet!

Look at that fat chin!  It's really just a bad angle (that's the excuse I always use...).
Recent updates:
1.  Gray is 10 weeks old today! He is very alert and loves to stare at the TV, in a mirror (he's so vain) and at the ceiling fans.  He has also discovered his hands and sticks them in his mouth all the time.
2.  He now has a new cousin to play with- Matthew Ryan Parsons, Jr.  We can't wait to meet him!
3.  Aunt Brooke came all the way from Napa to meet Gray and they love each other.  Gray is excited for his first trip to the wine country and some wine tastings! 
4.  Now all he needs is his other cousin, baby Zennadi, to get here.  Hurry up!
